In this video, I start a Turo car rental business using just one car, a 2014 VW Jetta, with the goal of turning it into $100,000 in revenue. I break down why I chose this car, how I listed it on Turo, and what this journey is really going to take.

What is turo?
As a Turo host myself, I would recommend Optimus direct to battery gps trackers, they're some of the most affordable, and you can more easily hide them to prevent them being disabled by a customer. I wouldn't recommend air tags because they will alert guests that an airtag is following them, and I wouldn't recommend the trackers that plug into your obd2 port because they can easily be seen and removed. However, if you're willing to put in the effort, you can relocate the obd2 port up out of view and use a obd2 tracker as they are quite nice at being able to remotely view diagnostic data, for example if your guest messages that the engine light comes on, you can see it in real time on your phone and if it's something like a small evap leak, you can tell your guest not to worry, or if it's something serious, you can communicate with your guest to stop driving the car and get them a replacement before they do irreparable damage to the vehicle.
Also, 12yrs 130k is the limit to list, not to keep on Turo, you can have a car go over those limits if it was already on Turo and is kept in good mechanical condition.
Well just wait for spring brake and see if it will rent!!!!
Don't give up Macho, just remember every successful business starts from ground zero. Give it some time, people will start renting your car sooner or later. u just have to trust the process bro.
Inspiring start proves one car can grow into serious Turo success
Put an audi Q7 or bmw X5 or bmw 5 series trust me
Do you ever change wipers on any car/suv/van or whatever you get.
Feel better Macho. I had the flu in early January and it was a bi*#h.
You need the add a bounce and a kill switch if you want to also to the extra route
keep hustlin!
I am a turo power host in Philadelphia. You have unfortunately entered in to turo on the worst months. I have some similar cars and you unfortunately have to set the price to $30-40 a day right now. Rest assured though it picks up in March and in the summer you will barely see that car and get between 50-60 a day.
If you run the car before performing ignition coil removal it will come out 10x easier most of the time
Not sure about your market but be expecting $30-$40 daily rate, not $50
I run some Turo cars. Just keep lowering the price. Make your car the cheapest, as itโs a risk for renters as you have no feedback. If no rents in 2 days, lower it again and so we on until its rented. These cars should not be sitting around. But every market is completely different. Also before you lower price, make sure you find what cars like yours, in age and model are getting rented for. Undercut them by $10.
Also do market research on cars in your area. Make sure they get rented for good money. If you live in a place that gets lots of show, people may want all wheel drive cars. Every market is different. So do your market research on best cars to buy.
You basically have to rent out the car for free until you become a superhost.
@Macho.motors i think for better Turo rentals its more of "i want to rent i sports car for a few days cuz ill never buy 1" type situation or something cool…The 370z would have been the perfect car for this type of video/content your after
Nobody uses turo anymore. Better off selling for a profit.
This is the first I've heard about Turo cars! good luck with it I hope it all works out for you!! I wonder if I could do it in Pa??
try private rentals too turo is good but sometimes takes awhile to get clients
My guy !! Congrats on trying to generate passive income, I agree with a lot of the comments, adding apple CarPlay and whatever androids is , would be huge. Ultimately I think you just got screwed by the timing, I wouldnโt expect rental on sedans to be huge in the winter, maybe bigger SUVs but I feel like a Jetta would perform better during spring-fall season
