2. Toyota has started charging $ subscription for their screen tech functions. How greedy can you get. You pay outrageous price for their vehicles and like a drug dealer they keep you paying. The cars aren't reliable like they used to be. Tesla updates their vehicles over the air with no charges. Honda doesn't charge a fee to use their system.

7. A very fair comparison! But, the real world things to consider: Try to find a Grand Highlander to buy! There just aren't any. Secondly, good luck negotiating the GH for anything at or above MSRP. The Pilot is available and can go for significantly less than MSRP. We have a 25 Pilot Black edition that is serving us well. Highway mileage is consistently in the 25 mpg range. And the V6 plus the price and availability made the difference (and the Honda reliability and resale!)

8. I onwer 3 toyotas now non of them turbocharger. The toyota turbocharge not as reliability as the v6. so , I will not buy a tubocharger from toyota.

10. The Toyota would be my pick if it didn’t hide so many features behind a paywall. It already costs 60k+ out the door, so the extra unnecessary subscription fees are an insult. I mean you can’t even use the damn gps after 3 years without having to pay and their apple car play and google apps have reports of being unreliable with the connection. That’s just wrong. The Honda is way less offensive in my opinion, but both are overpriced. 60k for a non luxury suv is madness imo.

11. Why the top trim Grand Highlander don't offer a 2nd row bench seat is beyond me. The gap makes it impossible to sleep/camp in the vehicle.

12. Wait til the pilot die on you and your toll guy doesn’t know how to pull your car bc pilot NEUTRAL is all electric and there has to be a special tools for it. Bought my 2025 pilot in July and it die on me by November at 1040 mileage, it’s been in the shop for 2 months now and the service guys just call to tell me they switching out the whole engine. I sure do have trust issues with Honda now.

13. I love Toyota, but when it comes to a third row seat with the best engine, I would choose the Honda Pilot V6

14. The Honda Pilot and the Grand Highlander both have very handsome looks. No longer soccer mom hauler. Now they are both super mom Hurler's. Shooting families safely into the future. Both are Japanese success stories. Good on Honda and Toyota.

15. I just bought a new grand Highlander over the Pilot because of the hybrid option. Honestly, if the Pilot offered hybrid, I would have bought it.

16. The third row in the GH is extremely uncomfortable. My husband is 6' tall. I am 5'3.5". We both preferred the Pilot third row over the GH. The Pilot was nicer and more comfortable up front than the GH, too. I didn't like the center console in the GH. It feels like it is too high and divides the space too much.

20. I’m surprised they didn’t speak about the hidden cargo compartment in the Honda Pilot. Kind of lost out on points for space.

21. You can’t even see the rear turn signals on the Highlander. Just because it’s LED doesn’t mean it is better or looks better because the pilot definitely is better there

22. Toyotas have remote start hidden. You have to press lock i think three times and hold on the last press

Am in the market or maybe was in the market for one of these, looked at both and none of the two are worth the asking prices… these are overpriced vehicles for what they offer now a days and the kicker is most parents dont want to buy them because they face it they are boring, but we have to because we have kids so I think what I’m gonna end up doing is just keeping my 2012 Honda Odyssey with 70,000 miles for longer or buy a five-year-old Toyota or Honda although it’s 2026 and sales have sucked for both of these brands so there might be deals out there, but these are just too overpriced for what they are nowadays

26. one thing i don't hear you talking about is the distance per tank for each. As I understand it, the GH has a smaller tank, and the hybrid doesn't really add much in distance, so owners are having to fill up sooner. Is this a valid comment? I'm a year away from my purchase (and planning on buying used for cash) to replace my 2015 Odyssey and I like both of these cars. The GH Hybrid is tempting, the Max too, because of fuel economy (especially on long road trips) but, i've owned two Odyssey's in a row and it is the most comfortable ride i've owned and it seems the Pilot continues that.

31. 2025 Pilot EX-L Owner here. The Pilot was a no-brainer for us since Toyota dealerships did NOT want to budge at the time. $55k for a BASE GH? No thanks. Had a friend pay $62k for his wife Hybrid GH which is insane to me.

37. I got my wife a 2025 Pilot in Touring trim with AWD. My daily driver is a ES 350 Ultra Luxury. I think the Pilot has marginally more comfortable seats. Very sold platform and creamy V6 and powertrain.

42. Test drive both Honda Pilot wins hand down. Honda has better safety record and ratings. Its v6 is powerful and smooth. It doesn't feel cheap like the toyota with plastic everywhere…

    The honda offer more features for less and honda finance is cheaper than toyota finance which tries to rip you off along with their bs markups and scammy dealer ships sales ppl…

    I am toyota guy by the way but Honda and others have surpassed toyota recently…

44. We’ve been driving Toyotas for more than two decades, yet this time we went with Honda for our new cars. I traded our Camry for an Accord Touring and our Highlander was replaced with a Pilot Black Edition. So far, we like the Hondas much better. Test drove the new Camry, 4Runner, and Grand Highlander. The Hondas just seemed better built, and had better handling. All the tech is implemented better, as well. I wish we’d given Honda a shot years ago, we are really enjoying our new cars.

45. Needing a subscription to use a function that’s available on the vehicle is a killer for me.
