The drivers just climbed out of the 2026 cars, and they can’t agree on anything.
Some are raving about the best racing in years. Others are terrified these machines are going to make overtaking impossible. And almost everyone is saying the same thing: these cars are brutal to drive.
Barcelona just gave us the first real glimpse at what 2026 racing will look like, and the reviews are all over the map. But buried in the chaos is one recurring theme that has everyone’s attention: driver skill might actually matter again.
So are we about to get the wheel-to-wheel battles F1 has been promising? Or are drivers going to be white-knuckling cars they can barely control while stuck in processional racing?
Let’s break down what the drivers actually said and whether 2026 is going to deliver or disappoint.

I bet cars sound like shit
You know what’s going to make the racing more interesting more lifting and coasting
Just Hyped your video hope it helps🎉😂😂
It should be an interesting year, especilly at the start (or maybe all season).
Aaldert
The risk is that the fans will be left with less understanding of what's going on than they had before.
Norris is not a champion. He got there by McLaren manipulating him to win. Oscar should've won the championship if McLaren was honest.
We're back to stick shift, don't like automatics ❤❤❤
Piastri needs to read up. Even some road cars are faster than them!
Turn lag???
I think the reason the Haas guys are so pessimistic is probably due to specific Haas issues.
Guesses on what the time difference will be between F1 and F2 in qualifying at Melbourne??
Talk about drivers having to manage battery, power, etc. it's taking away from the real driver scale with a regular engine. You just drive and that's when the driver has maximum impact. All these things are nonsense in my opinion and take away from the sports.
I'm worried about redbull and max
F1 will be BORING,putting all that bloody electrical power. F1 is turning into a effing joke.
I think the overtake positions in a lap will open up all season if u can blast the power in a sneaky spot then hold up the car until you get power charged up but you will have to be careful and make sure you are charged enough for the next long straight
Why are you focusing so much on what lando has said in this video? He’s a pleb
The relative veterans will know how drive these cars, the rookies will catch up too, after all they have driven cars in otrher formula that dont have ground effects.
It should give us some crazy racing for the first half of the season, until the drivers and teams figure things out. Get ready for some massive team changes at the top, this year.
