Kia EV3 killer? 2026 Skoda Elroq review

Automobiles

If you want a family SUV that happens to be electric, you have tonnes of great choices – and the Skoda Elroq is arguably one of the very best. But should you buy one over a Kia EV3? Join me for a full review of the Elroq Edition 85, including a look at real-world range, driving dynamics, how it handles UK roads and my muddy children.

  1. Another nice video, well done. Outrageous jokes ofc hehe. In my opinion for thr Elroq Ev3 comparison I would go for Elroq surely, firstly because the RWD set up which every driver knows is much better, plus you can opt for 4×4 in the Wrs model, also due to the better looks. Dunno the kia just looks like a toy both inside and out, plus all their cars seem to be having this ICCU electrical issue which also damages other components around it so its just not reliable. Yes you have longer 7y warranty but I don't think thats good enough if you will be leaving it in their shops many times, wondering if you get a replacement car etc…

  2. Great review as always Tim. Any chance you could drive an omoda 9 as I’d be very I interested to hear how it drives compared to the Tiggo 9 you reviewed and liked recently (for about the same £)

  3. Looked at one the other day. Quite impressed overall except, electric front passenger seat is an optional extra on all versions, the brakes feel horrible, and omg the door grab handles.🤮

  4. Good review very good car. I would love a VRS when i can downsize. Trouble is, the Enyaq is a bit cheaper on a lease at the moment and a bit better specced.

  5. So it’s got a 25ltr bigger boot than a EV3 yet the Skoda is 190mm longer🤔
It does less miles than an EV3🤔

Doesn’t look as good inside and out as an EV3 so no it’s no match for an EV3 sorry pal ….

Dare I say it that Skoda have tried to slightly copy the EV3 front look alittle 😊

  6. Test drove the elroq 85 edition i found it a little unrefined and the seats uncomfortable. I drove the Kia Ev4 GT line the same day and found it more refined and comfortable.

  7. Back in May 25, I spent a lot of time looking at the Elroq 85 for my next company car, along with a Scenic E-Tech, EV3 and Mini Countryman.

Very impressed by the Elroq, very comfortable to drive, spacious and well equipped. Boot is quite a bit smaller than the Enyaq though (I had one for a while), but that’s not surprising really, it’s a smaller car. Nice interior, the infotainment was fine.

However, I plumped for the Scenic in the end, although the Elroq was my second choice. Mostly due to the great deal I got on my company scheme, but the Scenic has more equipment for the money and I like the Google based screens. Boot a bit bigger too, but not by a lot.

I couldn’t fault the Elroq really though, everything is good about it and it would make a great family car.

  8. Mrs has a 85 Edition and I've had a 85 Sportline as a Company car , but now have the peppy vRS Elroq…. I bloody love these things and agree they are the best EV VW make, but i'd go one further and say they are the best CAR full stop that the group currently offers. Boom, there, I said it.

  9. It’s not a killer, it’s a competitor. Not a fan of silly hype but a good review nevertheless. I’d still buy the EV3 because it’s more forward looking, less backward looking in style.

  10. As it came out a couple of years ago I think the Renault Scenic (I know you briefly mentioned it) gets largely overlooked now. The MY26 still has class leading range and a great array of kit as well as being good to drive and look at (subjective!).

  11. A typical Skoda family car, simple, sturdy, little bit of style. Talking of which it would be nice for a manufacturer to use your jacket as a template for seat inserts – "Rodie Tartan"?

  12. more expensive than EV3, shorter range, no camp mode, no frunk, and ugly SKODA logo everywhere. But ok it has an umbrella compartment.

  13. I used to tolerate watching your videos despite your weird comments… but I have to unsubscribe now because I draw the line at… it's so easy to drive 'even dead people could drive it'. That's going too far, no need, not funny, a bit sick really
