The Aston Martin Vanquish Is Robb Report’s 2026 Car of the Year

The Aston Martin Vanquish is Robb Report’s 2026 Car of the Year. Reviving one of the marque’s most storied nameplates, the British grand tourer blends breathtaking design, ferocious performance, and elevated craftsmanship into what may be Aston Martin’s most complete modern flagship. Its sculpted teardrop silhouette and dramatic Kamm tail nod to the brand’s Le Mans heritage, while the rear wheel drive coupe unleashes 824 hp and more than 737 lb ft of torque from a 5.2 liter twin turbo V-12. The result is explosive acceleration, reaching 62 mph in 3.3 seconds, paired with sharpened agility thanks to a bonded aluminum structure, Bilstein DTX dampers, and an advanced electronic rear limited slip differential.

Inside, the Vanquish elevates Aston Martin’s signature artistry with meticulous trim, tactile physical controls, and a vastly improved in house infotainment system anchored by a 10.25 inch display and a 15 speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Judges praised its rare balance of visceral power, precision handling, and everyday grand touring composure, with several calling it one of the most complete performance cars Aston has ever produced. Equal parts ballistic performance machine and refined long distance cruiser, the Vanquish ultimately lived up to its name, decisively outperforming nine world class competitors to claim Robb Report’s highest automotive honor.

  1. That gaping maw of a grille reminded me of something, but it took me a while to remember exactly what. Then it hit me — there is a video on youtube with the title, "Ariel Atom – Top Gear – Series 5 – BBC
BBC Studios". Skip to the part where Clarkson is being blasted by the high-speed wind.

  2. By the time the parts get shipped from BMW then to Mercedes Benz then to Aston Martin to assemble everything underneath the shell that you don’t see, the price gets multiplied for every handover.

  3. FUN FACT— this car uses Scottish “Bridge of Weir” leather, as the video mentioned. The very first car to use this venerable material— the DeLorean.

  4. They really should have moved that side fender grill up higher like on the previous vanquish and DB9 bodies DBS. Looks out of place so low. That side streak line needs to be running with that protruding body line up on the top 1/3 of the fender.

  5. Well deserved, MUCH MORE so than any Porsche. It's big car but oh man the exhaust note is to die for! Now remember this is Robb Report, the magazine for the "old money" classic and tasteful consumer, right in line with this car.
