Acura is making a big push to reach a younger buyer with the Integra and how the ADX. Of these two, it’s likely the ADX that will find more homes in the garage but so much of that is built on what the Integra does well and that is to be interesting AND feel premium. How does that happen while still having a palatable price tag? the answer is in balancing act between features that make an impact and those that just add to a checklist and it seems the ADX has the goods to go the distance. It’s good to look at, fun to drive, had an impressive sound system, and offers color combos that pop more than some of the competition. This isn’t a powerhouse under the hood and it’s not the quietest out on a long road trip but if you live in an urban environment those might not be at the top of your wants list and the ADX doesn’t make you pay for it. There’s so much good here but one thing stands out as missing…

What a cheap looking luxury car😮!! What happened to Acura??
Strange that the entry level Acura CUV comes with LED rear turn signals yet the next level up RDX makes do with low-rent incandescent rear turn signals…
No hybrid? Immediately clicking off. Acura just needs to be shut down as a brand. Same as Infiniti. Both of them are worthless at this point.
We’re fans of Acura products and we did our research, so what the vehicle offers suits our needs; aka we’re old folks. However Acura did miss the mark in areas of performance, I thought a better choice would have been Honda’s hybrid system. Also some pretty standard perks have been eliminated, as least for now, such as a HomeLink system. We had to dig out the garage remote, plus only a 4 positions for the passenger seat and no rear seat heat, and no struts for hood, come on now.
I own one of these. I discovered that with the tans in “S” mode, and you use the paddles to put it into “Manual” mode, use paddles to drop to lowest fake gear you can, the car accelerates “faster” because the trans auto upshifts BUT the fake shifts keep the revs above 5K rpms. Simply feels faster, but I have no idea if it is actually faster.
I think that the “efficiency” category in the comparison chart with the Lexus UX is reversed?
Travis, your presentation and organization improves with each review that you produce. I echo comments elsewhere on this thread to say I appreciate the perspective you provided on the ADX.
Good review but does it have xm radio
I drive a CRV hybrid, I'd consider this if it was hybrid.
The powertrain will kill this car.
I like it but the shape of the console cuts into my right knee. I've sat it in and it's a comfortable place to be but driving with the console intruding on where I rest my leg keeps me from considering it. I don't have that issue with my TLX and RDX.
Wow, did not know you could get an X1 up past $60k ouch
I don't understand why Acura does not offer a performance Hybrid!
As a buyer who will mostly drive solo or with 1 other person in the car, I'd look at the Buick Envision?, the one that is based on the Chevy Trax. Yes it's smaller but it's nicely made and power is about the same.
The only people who will buy this are the people who like red seats… ASpec is PoorSpec. Not worth $46K
These are $54,000 CDN $$ I paid $8000 more and got a new Golf R AWD that was Fully loaded. This was on my wife’s list she took one look at it and left shaking her head. It was almost as big as my passport with a tiny little engine in it. Looks like they are struggling to sell these where I live. Seems they missed the mark on this one it needs the hybrid from the CRV.
OMG, 9.4 seconds to get to 60 mph………..TRASH, JUNK!!
This is the best review I've seen on this vehicle. First, it considers who this little SUV is aimed at and evaluates based on that. It's clearly not aimed at Ferrari buyers, but many reviewers seem to forget that. Second, it gives a nod to all-roundedness. Third, it takes price into consideration. I mean, you're not going to get a Bugatti for the price of a rusted-out Pinto.
I think you nailed it. It's fast enough. Shoot, it's faster than the famed Plymouth Duster in the Twister version with the 225 slant by up to four seconds. If you want neck snapping acceleration, look elsewhere. This is not your car, but then the engine that delivers that acceleration is going to cost more. It handles pretty well for a car with a center of gravity this high. It's good for long trips or just commuting and tooling around town.
Acura claims to have taken a substantial market share in this segment (however they define it), so the ADX has done pretty well. And it has done pretty well because it understood its potential buyers.
Thanks again.
In pretty much every other part of the world where the HRV, which the ADX is based on, it offers the much more efficent and powerful 2 motor hybrid system under the hood. The US is pretty much the only place where the ADX/HRV isnt offered in a hybrid. For some stupidly bizarre reason. This would be fantastic as a 45+ MPG hybrid. Especially with how inefficient and lackluster the current gen CRV hybrid is.
I tried this already. Acura built it almost perfect. The only downside is the engine. They should make it hybrid with more horsepower and mpg.
Anemic engine and high price are big turnoffs. Honda HRV is essentially the same thing. Can get better options for 5-10k less.
That is a Honda!
Pathetic! Is it an suv? No! Is it fuel efficient? No! Is it quick? No! Fails at everything! A Chevrolet Trax accelerates faster, more fuel efficient, more cargo space for $10k-$15k less. Honda/Acura WTF are you doing?
Brand Loyalty is something 99% of commenters miss.
I didn't know they hired a squirrel assistant! 🐿🐿🐿
Idk why honda isnt selling the Honda Vezel in the US, it has the whole hybrid tech their direction is moving but with the 7 speed DCT honda used to offer in the MDX/RLX sport hybrids
Total snooze from Acura.
Mazda CX-30 Tutbo Premium Plus definitely should be cross shopped. Sure would be my choice until Acura coughs up a better drivetrain option.
The fact that they don’t offer this with the Civic Hybrid/Prelude engine is INSANITY
the problem with the ADX is that I already have an integra, and I much prefer the integra over another suv 🤷 also there's a squirrel under the adx
The problem with the ADX is that Mazda exists.
For $4k less you can get a top trim CX-50 with theh 2.5 Turbo. OR, the new CX-5, which comes with a bullet-proof powertrain (2.5 NA with 6-speed auto), that is on par (perhaps better) than the ADX's 1.5 Turbo with a CVT. Both, CX-50 and CX-5 are at around $40k (usually going for less at dealers) and have much classier interiors and features than this $46k ADX.
So I would totally write this thing off at the MSRP with the 1.5 turbo engine but these are not selling, I've yet to see one on the road. And they are being discounted anywhere from 7 to 10K. So if you just get an a A Spec for $30k…. I would take that over a Kona or a Crosstrek or whatnot in a heartbeat. I think they look fantastic inside and out
A trim level for Hr-v , nothing more. Just as overpriced as Prelude, much worse than similarly priced competitors, absolutely UNcompetitive. Laziest and most overpriced rebadge, modern day Cadillac Cimarron.
I sat in this at the auto show. Acura could've done a lot better to differentiate from the HRV. I know cost cutting and all that stuff, but they need to start going above and beyond.
Yes the Honda hybrid system would be a much better fit for this vehicle. Also there are issues with the 1.5 turbo engine that can lead to premature failure .
Acura dealers have HUGE inventorys of 2025 ADXs (plus even more that are for sale as former service loaners).
Make sure you bargain hard.
