Arguably this is one of the best looking cars in the segment and while the Renault Scenic was once a people mover it’s now an electric SUV. Is it any good? Paul Maric takes it for a spin to find out.

low res cameras in 2026 is just one of those things that shows that manufacture don't give a sh*t about customer experience. Looks good outside but interior with those cameras already looks dated and dark interior is so boring.
Some of the comments this guy makes… it is not a sports car and there are plenty of front wheel drive electric cars, why don’t you adapt to the car you are reviewing? How can this guy be a “profesional” car reviewer?
So much nicer than the generic Chinese EV dross…
Still don't want an EV but that would be at the front of the queue if I did.
The look is good
I drove the Scenic Alpine and the Sealion 7 performance (only because there was no premium available) back to back today and I have to say the Renault is so much nicer to drive than the BYD.
Yes the BYD has a lot more tech but but the ride wallowed all over the place compared.
The Renault is definitely more sure footed and I thought it was quieter as well.
Not once did the scenic bing or bong at me because I dared to look in the rear vision mirror compared to the BYD which I felt tugging at me even just changing lanes.
Also I think the BYD feels bigger than it is (to me at least) and I drive a PX Ranger with a 2m square alloy tray daily and the BYD felt bigger than that in comparison.
It's RENAULT all the way for me and will be ordering in the next few weeks.
Mine gets delivered tomorrow….exact model and colour …..excited
Never ever buy a French car
Buy their butter, wine and jumbo jets.
But not the car
Nice car with so much potential, but it gets eliminated as way too many flaws.
FWD + SUV = 🤢🤢
Love the look of that but my god the depreciation being a Renault and electric (although that might slow with fuel being what it is) would be 🥜’s
I’ve had a few Renaults great cars but they are priced now way too high…
23:35 is this definitely true? If yes, that's an incredibly strange decision and would have a significant impact on the ownership experience for me personally. Surely Renault aren't including data and aren't offering a plan or ability to enter your own SIM?
amazing car but with the current market would I dare say its to expensive?
Build quality testing is impressive .
really hope Renault stay in Australia. Their EV lineup is hugely appealing and obviously one of the non Chinese products out there.
a pity no AWD
Just purchased a Megane E Tech, absolutely stoked with it! C’est la vie!!
No spare not interested. 👎
little 3 years late to our market, what a shame
I am confused, why is it that all new cars now have the rear window tinted? Is it against the law to have all windows (except windscreen) tinted?
Looks like a Peugeot mixed with Haval nothing really special, good ev range though.
Renault are making some , dare I say , future classics right now 🚙
Seeting > Playback Speed > 1.5 🙂 You're welcome!
Super nice and futuristic looking 👌
Price seems reasonable given what's out there. Hopefully these are more reliable then their combustion versions. Lol 😂
Hello 👋 Paul
Electric 😗
100% agree that it looks very sharp! Some of the little annoyances you mentioned could possibly be overlooked to have something as nice looking as this.
I think it is time to give the semi-autonomous functions a bigger space in RV Paul, rather than lane keeping capability only…
Design and colour. Stunning.
So this will be Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Advice: don’t buy French car and thank’s me later.
If it’s a proper Renault engineered car you should be able to drive like an idiot in the wet ! That’s what makes a Renault a Renault !
Looks great IRL
Now new car outlets are reviewing electric car amid these fuel price increases, why are you promoting these shit heaps?
Renaults still look Renault, which is ok. But the prices and limited models they send to Australia has been shit since 2018 ! They built good, basic, good handling cars and don’t sell them in Australia ! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a new Clio ! And all the interior screens, electronics are made in China for years and the prices are stupid with all legacy brands !
Paul review sealion 8
Is the battery the same as the Nissan Ariya?
It looks like an ID4 incognito. Great review Paul, as always thorough and honest.
