Perfect Wagon + SUV Marriage? | 2026 Subaru Outback Touring Detailed Review & Breakdown

Automobiles

The #SubaruOutback has been America’s favorite wagon for decades and for 206, #Subaru gives the latest #Outback its most ambitious redesign yet. While some may say it’s no longer a wagon, the latest #OutbackTouring continues to be one of the perfect family vehicles on the market with significantly improved levels of refinement and technology and yes, it still very much feels like a Wagon behind the wheel.

  1. I love the way it looks. That’s where I’m watching this video. I drove by a Subaru dealership near my house. Saw one of these and thought what the heck is that and then went to the Subaru website and now I’m watching this video. #neverownedasubie

  2. If they eliminated the cladding this model would be really good looking. You can see it hiding under there… I was really hoping the Outback would lean a bit more luxurious looking. Welp, so much for that. Interior looks great thought. I had an Outback in 2019. They handle wonderfully.

  3. Genuinely not a jab at you, but was the previous generation Outback headroom an issue for you, or just in general for customers? Also, I like the look of these new Outbacks. I wish they had a trim where the cladding was paint matched.

  4. Our only wagon left has become an SUV now too. We only get one choice now, SUV. What about all of those who don’t need one?

  5. Great points about cross shopping with a Honda Passport. That's exactly where I am right now. Our 2017 Sienna has become a 'work' vehicle since we started our business. We need a family vehicle for road trips, hockey tournaments etc. The big downside is that for us the nearest Subaru dealership is nearly 40km's away. Meanwhile 2km's away we have Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, and Nissan. Even with that issue I am really impressed with this new outback.

  6. You’re right. The new Outback looks so much better in real life but it’s not very photogenic, I guess? I used to love the wilderness trim a lot more and although I could maybe get used to the 2026 OBW, the exterior back styling is just so messy. There’s way too much going on 😅

  7. The front of this vehicle is fugly. I’m sure people will love it I presume, but it’s not a great design. Interior is an improvement. But the price of these loaded out offers many other better options.

  8. アウトバックの良さって、見た目はステーションワゴン、中身は本格SUVにも負けない走破性で無かったのか?このポジションはフォレスター、アセントがあるだろう。ブサイクなフロントフェイスにリア

  9. The Interior is very nice, love the new tech as well. But, hate the exterior design, it's ugly and does not look like a wagon….at all…..The front overhang is also excessive, not worth the price they're asking.

  10. I would delete the sunroof for less weight and I would want it lowered by 2inches..or 50mm for handling…I would have bought one but since I do not like the last Gen infotainment screen ..the new infotainment is better… too bad no proformance mode…😟 i would.like the infotainment to face the driver more than centered, how is the cornering handling i tend to push vehicles to its limits…

  11. I’ve had my Sapphire Blue Limited XT for 2 weeks now and I’m loving it. Very nice refined drive, comfortable and lots of room. Let me tell you though man this thing is quick off the line. I’ve never had a Subaru before and we’ve had a fair amount of rain lately …. I haven’t been able to get any wheel spin. The power goes down smoothly and if you need it too it will take off like a rocket heading into a low earth orbit lol. Kudos to the Subaru AWD system, I heard it was good and have been pleasantly surprised!
