The 2026 BYD Seal Just Crushed the BMW i4 – 3.8s 0–60 & 523HP for Less Money

Automobiles

The 2026 BYD Seal is making waves in the electric sedan market with a powerful combination of performance, efficiency, and value. With up to 523 horsepower and a 0–60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds, this EV is positioned as a serious contender in the performance sedan category.

Built on BYD’s advanced EV platform and powered by its Blade Battery technology, the Seal offers competitive driving range, fast charging capability, and improved safety. Its sleek aerodynamic design and modern interior — featuring a large rotating touchscreen and premium materials — further enhance its appeal.

In North America, performance EVs like the BMW i4 have set high benchmarks for driving dynamics and luxury. However, the BYD Seal challenges that position by delivering similar performance at a potentially lower price point.

As the EV market continues to evolve across the United States and Canada, more buyers are looking for high-performance electric cars that offer real value — and the BYD Seal could be one of the most compelling options available.

If you’re searching for a fast, affordable electric sedan in 2026, this is one model you don’t want to overlook.

  1. Byd looks like a porsche, don't compare to the only bmw that still has the bmw looks, bmw 4 series is the only car still looking like a bmw. Byd looks like porsche, in appearance compare it to porsche and see which is better.

  2. Why didn't you show an open trunk/boot? Your indoor pan of the back seat suggests this may be a 5-door lift-back/hatch. If it is, then it's a contender, if not, then not interested.

  3. Blah, blah, blah! In Europe, we only have about 6 models to choose from out of the nearly 15 available in China. What's the point? BYD will never really gain a foothold in the European market this way. And the advertising for the Seal U DM-I 2027 on social media is just ridiculous ☝️. This kind of thing confuses European customers, because, like with the Omoda 9, a facelift is planned and will be released. People will then buy the old model. It's not just about dumping prices, but also about good marketing and a solid strategy will be important.
