My 2006 Sequoia has had the VSC dash alerts and check engine light on. After checking with Toyota they say it is a weak fuel pump. Any idea if this could actually be the cause?
All these crooked dealers should have refunded the money to this person.
The cars 🚙 have become so complex that no one knows how to fix them. Ridiculous Toyota dealers do not know how to repair them.
This is why as an old mechanic will never but them. New cars is are a total disaster. 🇦🇺
The low-amplitude signal would confuse the computer for sure. Is there a resistance check on the component? Resistance in some cases can be useless on a sensor depending on the sensor design.
Moral of the story is don't cheap out when it comes to critical sensors, stick with OE or OEM parts only and save money with your Amazon/Ebay knockoff parts elsewhere. Shops should always be transparent about what parts they are using and their source. This poor GX ended up with a laundry list of aftermarket garbage ignition parts when all it needed was a crankshaft sensor 😢

Why didn't the scanner point to the sensor in the 1st place?
Ahmed, not sure if you read comments or not, but I hope this will be my lucky day. I would like to get your advise on issue with my 2010 GX. I get P2111 DTC when idle for 3-5+ minutes but that happens only during the summer. If I force re-calibration by disconnecting the battery for 15+ mins then the car is good for another 500-1k miles. I get no issues during colder days at all. I do have a techstream at my disposal and could do further diagnosis if you could provide me with any hint what else I should look/check for. BTW, there are no other DTCs triggered. My GX has less than 110k on it and I don't trust any dealership with repairs. Therfore, I maintain and fix things by myself. Thanks in advance.

This is the sole reason, when I am replacing stuff on my cars, all Toyota, I always go to the dealer to buy OEM. TO save headaches down the line.

Once again a fantastic video!!! Your info is always great!! I have a 265,000 mile tundra. I’ve had very few problems with it. All minor. But I’ve always used genuine Toyota parts!!
I bought a 30k mile car a mechanic said it needed an engine changed the Bosch spark plugs on it and it ran perfectly lol.
I have a problem child like that at my shop right now. A 2012 Nissan NV2500 with 78K Miles on it that will just randomly shut off while driving. No trouble codes to help current or history. I think I figured it out because it only happens at low speed and it has only happened one time in our possession. It happened to me pulling into the shop because we lock it up at night. It was an abrupt stop from about 2 miles an hour. I think the torque convertor is locking up.
Counterfeit parts must be costing customers billions of USD lost every year. Sad this happened to folks.
