Kemi and Nigel are going to abolish the EV mandate..Worrying times ahead for Ev's..love them as i do..I sell a few as a Kia sales chap..Fleet sales will carry on for a bit…But retail? I think it's on a slippery slope…Shame…

10. I doubt that a new Landy will be any more reliable that those of present. As it’s not just their engines but also things like the suspension, brakes and ingress of water into cabin. JLR have been trading in their name for too long and really need to step forward. Gone are the days, when you could sell a Series II and have the owner enthuse about all the poor points.

12. Nissan Juke, most unreliable car on UK roads.. Its got to be better, but 160 miles was 5 years ago. 260 or 360 for a new design.. Nissan is not in the race.

16. JLR – I’ve owned Land and Range Rovers for 40+ years, often two at a time as I owned a 1996 Defender Tdi300 90 for 25 years alongside a Range Rover for many many years. I now have a small EV and a 2023 Defender 90 weekend toy. I suspect that the delays in the launch of the electric Range Rover are for two reasons – they are having a problem deciding what tech it should have now that 6D suspension has been proved in the Dakar rally but also it’s weight maybe proving to be a big hurdle. Then there’s the problem of the new Jag, launching a very expensive electric Jag and an extremely expensive electric Range Rover very close to each other could be death to both as both will only sell in very small numbers as it is and neither car can afford to be launched into that market with Volvo type software issue from a company that doesn’t have a great reliability (unfounded in my own experience) reputation.
    I cannot wait for the Rivian R2S to come to the UK as I suspect I’ll be waiting 4-5 years longer for an electric Defender/Discovery to appear and I fear that my 2023 diesel Defender 90 won’t last passed 8-10 years lifespan – it’s been perfect up to now but just as the warranty is running out its becoming a worry that something major will go wrong with perceived built-in obsolescence. Subscriptions for security systems and connected navigation etc are all running out and cost the earth to renew but some are essential for maintaining affordable insurance cover.

17. Good to see some of the Europeans making decent EV, first it was Renault, now BMW and Mercedes and by end of year VW family of vehicles.

19. I can't afford one, but I like the look of the Neue Klasse BMW. I want something that looks futuristic in the 21st century, not the current generation which mostly looks like cars from the 90s. So often I think, why didn't you go with the concept car look?

23. I'm looking forward to: the VW/Skoda/Cubra quads, Twingo, Alpine, Volvo ex60 and Neu Klass 3-series sedan/station wagon and everything else that might surprise me.

24. We're half-way through a 4 year lease of the Smart #1, which we're absolutely loving, so not in the market right now but keeping an eye on the horizon.

    I must confess, re: Hyundai, I'm absolutely sick of hearing adverts on the radio from them about their "self-charging hybrid." To the point where, and I accept this is extraordinarily petty, I'm thinking I will just rule them completely out of my search for my next EV, whenever that happens, and probably rule them out forever more.
    In my mind, there is no excuse for any company now, least of all one with such a strong BEV offering, to be pushing hybrids of any kind.
    As a mere consumer, I do not have any voice or power other than my wallet.

    Will be interesting to see what this year brings, and I hope you'll be bringing back the kW 1/2h soon!!

25. That Polo looks bad…(VW are generic/conservative/unimaginative looking currently anyway). However, to each their own. Good to see Legacy Euro brands trying to adapt and transform, as they have been a house of cards for a while now.

29. Saw the new iX3 at Lancaster services on Feb 1. It was charging in the next bay. The guy inside was smiling as I took a photo. I passed it later on the M6 going really slowly – very distinct lights at night. The rest looked very normal. Thought it’d look a bit outlandish – but it wasn’t.
