New Dacia Sandero Eco-G 120 Automatic 2026 – Test Drive.
Dacia Sandero Eco-G 120 Automatic 2026 — Full Test Drive & Review
In 2026, Sandero enters a new stage of evolution inside the Dacia range with a major mechanical upgrade, a new lighting identity, more technology, and important safety improvements. The highlight is the brand-new Eco-G 120 engine, now available for the first time with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and steering-wheel paddles.
This new powertrain combines the advantages of LPG (low running costs) with the comfort of an automatic gearbox, making Sandero one of the most efficient daily cars on the market.
Under the hood, Sandero Eco-G 120 uses a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 HP (up from 100 HP on the previous Eco-G). The car runs on both petrol and LPG and is paired with a smooth and responsive 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox, a first for any LPG Dacia model.
Dacia also increased the LPG tank capacity from 40 liters to 49.6 liters, resulting in a 20% longer LPG range. Combined with the petrol tank, the total driving range reaches up to 1,590 km (WLTP) without refueling — one of the longest ranges of any combustion car sold in Europe today.
Visually, Sandero 2026 is the first model to adopt Dacia’s new LED lighting signature. At the front, the headlights are now topped by an inverted “T” LED daytime running light, while at the rear the new vertical “pixel” LED taillights emphasize the car’s robust stance. Stepway versions receive additional matte black design elements and new Starkle® protective trims made from 20% recycled plastic, which are more scratch-resistant and reduce the need for painted surfaces.
Inside, Sandero receives a serious technology update. The car can now be equipped with a 10-inch central multimedia screen with connected navigation, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with a redesigned interface, wireless smartphone charging, multi-view camera, automatic headlights, and electrically folding mirrors.
To comply with the latest European safety regulations, Sandero 2026 adds new advanced driver assistance systems that were not available before. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking capable of detecting vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles in both urban and extra-urban environments, as well as a driver attention monitoring system.
Compared to the previous Sandero Eco-G, the 2026 model brings clear improvements:
• Power increased from 100 HP to 120 HP
• Manual gearbox replaced by 6-speed DCT automatic with paddles
• LPG tank increased from 40 L to 49.6 L
• Total range increased to 1,590 km
• New LED lighting design front and rear
• Larger multimedia system and digital cluster
• New safety and driver assistance systems
• More durable, eco-friendly exterior protection materials
All these changes position Sandero Eco-G 120 Automatic as the most efficient combustion Dacia for daily driving, combining extremely low fuel costs, very long range, modern technology, and the comfort of an automatic transmission, while keeping the simplicity and practicality Sandero is known for.

I saw a VW Polo having the Dual Clutch transmission so overheated in the Bucharest jammy traffic, you would say the car caught fire, smoke coming out from under the hood! The DSG is not for Bucharest, definitely! But the hybrid would be just fine!
Este diferită directia fata de versiunea precedenta ? Aia mi s a parut guma de mestecat sincer si nici pe clio 2020 nu era mai buna .
Thanks for this short review – I'm keen to hear more of you. I already ordered the same model, but it takes about 3 months to be delivered. For me it means I have to wait until May.
Incredible, we have the Older 90cv CVT to accompany my 4×4 3rd gen duster, and that little car moves, maybe not from 0kmh but in the highway is pretty alive… I cannot imagine how good could it be with 30hp more and dual clutch…
Dacia has made so many upgrades to our two existing cars that they feel like a necessity to replace them 😂😂😂 even tho they are basically new.
FINALLY!!!!! It's sad they decided to take out the LPG in 2030. It's like the best buy for normal people without big wages.
Danke für den Fahrbericht 👍 Hoffe das du bald den nächsten auf Autobahn machst und zeigst uns wie das Auto sich mit dem neuen Motor beim überholen benimmt und ob der Wagen innen leiser geworden ist. Gruss

Any cruise control on board? Or option? (not speed limiter)
