The #SubaruForester has been an easy choice for buyers looking for one of the most capable compact crossover SUV’s on the market. When #Subaru introduced the first-ever #ForesterWilderness back in 2022, it gave an already capable #Forester even more upgrades to go further off the beaten path. For 2026, the #SubaruForesterWilderness returns, but this time Subaru has designed it from the start to include the #Wilderness trim.

The rear window doesn't go all the way down. So due to my OCD I had to stop the video.
Yikes Subaru is still slapping a laggy iPad in the middle of the car? I had a base 2018 WRX and the infotainment in that car was painfully slow. Subaru inforntainment isn't responsive so I don't understand why Subaru insists on putting HVAC controls in the inforntainment. Hard pass for me, I'd rather buy a Toyota, Honda, or Mazda that doesn't have a giant tablet in the middle 💁🏽♂️
Info system is a deal breaker when the new Outback system with knobs are in the Forester then I’ll buy one
We don’t get the Wilderness in Canada. Thanks to the tariffs
1:55 The engine is known as the FB25D, not F25A.
You lost me at CVT
Will not consider any Subaru with that infotainment tablet.
I’d probably have bought the Wilderness trim had it been available when I bought my 2020.
Why forester!?!? Where’s the outback review! 🙁
After taxes, it’s almost $50K, Car prices is just ridiculous these days.
I haven't seen you make an actual off-road test review before These off-road CUVs are only good for light trails, like some outdoor family picnics
That’s the cheapest-looking $42k car I think ever.
Tires and wheels are too small. Makes it look top heavy and disproportional. The mpg is garbage!
This Wilderness edition is underpowered, to me it’s completely useless
I love the way these look and stand.
No heated steering wheel? Lame
I have a 2015 forester xt I’ll sell and trade fast!
I wish the Wilderness trim was available when we got our 2019.
The interior is made out of ground up Nokia brick phones.
Off roader. With a CVT 😂😂😂😂
Yhe infotainment system is very responsive for this 71 year old who didn't grow up with smart phones. A great vehicle.
Those wilderness tags just irritate me. My dad has a previous gen outback wilderness. I just want to rip them off like a pillow and it’s hard not to haha
Dang it’s slow
My gosh that thing is hideous.
Way too much belly aching. Just drive it in the snow and see its superior handling and capability. Remember ten years ago when no one had a heated steering wheel? Man, stop the whining. It’s not a race car or a Lexus. It’s cheaper than most competitors for what you get and the all wheel drive system is second to none.
Dang, to think my old mustang 3.7 I had would produce similar, if not better, fuel economy while producing much more power at about a 200lb weight difference.
I have been in my friend’s Forester Touring trim and I love it. He’s driven a Crosstrek before with the 2.0L N/A boxer 4 with only 152 HP, but this 2.5L N/A boxer 4 with 180 HP he said was a welcome upgrade in power. He loves the Forester a lot especially with that capable Symmetrical AWD. I think for mainstream vehicles, Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD is the best in the business for sure, since they’re known for it. The only thing I hate is that garbage infotainment system. It was cool when it first came out but now that the new Outback has their new system, I hope Subaru includes that new infotainment.
They just need a Manual Trans
Just give us the turbo engine
This would be so sick with the turbo engine and a MT. It's something I'd legit consider purchasing. Still, 46k is just stupid.
The towing capacity is great! It must be dog slow but at least it’s capable
That infotainment is in no way an improvement of the previous system. Funny they added that garbage system to the Forester the same year they removed it from the outback.
As I work at the factory in Lafayette Indiana I drive this vehicle every day and the crosstreck wilderness alot too slow for me
Saw the new Outback at the CAS last weekend, didn't know there was a new one but I know this, the Ascent will now be the Descent💀
its a hatchback. its csn go off road with all wheel drive standard. it basically checks the box for most customers. ones who want a hatchback. ones who want a all wheel drive vehicle. one who wants a suv. one who wants a off road capable vehicle.
I saw an Outback Wilderness pretty far of the beaten path. Covered ground more capably than I might have thought. It was impressive for what it is.
I think an XT Forester would be awesome.I'd buy one then.
Anybody else?
