The Skoda Kodiaq RS is a fantastic family SUV. Almost.

It’s a 7 seater. But the back row is a MASSIVE let down. Watch on to see why.

But the rest of this? Wow. Terrific. Amazing. Exceptional. Excellent!

I mean, you know when you test cars for a living, and your 4.5 year old kid asks: “Why can’t we just keep this one forever?!”

  1. Bound to have a minimum of mechantronics unit failure and water pump replacement, typical VW crap. Our 2021 RS spent 16 weeks off the road getting repaired, had to go to NCAT. My mother buys a brand new golf, fuel line leaking needs so new replacement vehicle being given. Sick of VWs never buying them again.

  2. If you have any doubts about what this tank can do, just watch some Nürburgring and Skoda Motorsport videos. It’s been fine-tuned with attention to detail by their engineers, not just a badge. Also, 0-100 doesn't matter that much at traffic lights (due to speed limits)… however its 0-60 km/h is under 3s (=2.94s), which is enough to smoke most performance vehicles from a standstill lol

  3. If you really need a 6 or 7 seater, trust me buy a Kia Carnival diesel. It will carry 7 in absolute comfort including luggage etc and will average around 5 l/100km. They are not sporty but they are comfy and super practical.

  4. I like my current Skoda, am due for an upgrade, find the brand are very slow to bring the models to the showroom following media days…. maybe VW are controlling the narrative here in Australia & Perth Metro has one dealership – authorised service centre. The new Kodiaq is fairly bland looking, prefer the previous one..

  5. My disappointment was high when you didn't say "great alternatives that you might want to look at if you don't want to write a Czech for this car" at the start of this video

  6. Standard Kodiaq is a great car when its safety tech is working. My car phantom brakes, 360 cameras intermittently don’t work plus lots of other electrical gremlins. Been to dealer a few times and they can’t fix.

  7. Hi Matt, any idea on when you'll be reviewing the Skoda Enyaq 85 Sportline SUV? It's on my list when it comes to replacing my Skoda Karoq 110TSI Style in about 6 months. I've also got the Renault Scenic E-Tech Techno Long Range on the list. Both have been released in Australia, but you still can't actually see one in the metal yet! Well, here in Adelaide anyway!

  8. I'm 6'6" tall 126kg's with chronic back issues and I test drove this car over Christmas and it was outstanding. I can not handle firm suspension and the ride in max comfort was incredible for me even way more comfy than my WN Caprice. The seats are also incredible I said to my daughter it's like they were made for me. The 2 litre pulls the car around really well..

  9. Hey Matt great review as always. I just picked up my RS earlier this week but just found out that the rear doors won't lock/unlock using keyless entry. Was this the case for you if you remember? I do remember from your last review of Kodiaq (non RS) and you said this car offers both front and rear keyless entry.
