2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT Detailed Review – Is This Finally the EV Value Play?

Automobiles

With over 300 miles of electric range as standard, the latest #ChevroletEquinoxEV remains a strong value in the affordable electric SUV space. With its under $35k starting price and single electric motor power in the front wheels, the #EquinoxEV picks up where the old #BoltEV leaves off with the most range standard at its price point. #Chevrolet also throws in impressive tech with a massive 17.7” touch screen as standard with Google built-in. Just be sure to keep the options in check bc it will quickly become more expensive than rivals that offer similar range and tech.

  1. Brake torquing literally does nothing in this car. It gives you no performance advantage whatsoever. There is no torque converter or turbocharger to build boost. Excellent review otherwise.

  2. Not having Apple CarPlay is not an issue as far as I’m concerned. I was using Google Maps when I used CarPlay and I still use it today on the Google Built-In system. instead of Apple Music I now use Spotify which I find to be much better than Apple Music. I do not miss Apple CarPlay at all and I don’t think most people will once they try out the Google Built-In system.

  3. I believe no one really cares about the front trunk, over rated. Better yet, I would love to see stats about how often the front trunk is used per week across all vehicles that offer it.

  4. i have an EqEV LT FWD base and love it. i have an Android so Google Automotive is seamless for me. i just wish i had heated seats at the very least. other than that, no other complaints

  5. Have a 2025 FWD LT
    It’s been a fantastic vehicle!!!
A little over a year and 11K miles in so far with no problems.
It’s not a performance vehicle, nor priced like one, but it can definitely do anything that you need to do in normal day to day driving.
2025 HP/torque specs are the same as the 2026.

  6. Neighbor has the caddy IQ, cost him something like $150k. Ultium platform also. It’s been in the shop longer than it’s been in his driveway. $55k (this equinox as tested) will get you a whole lot of tesla model Y and if you care, the Y is American made. Equinox is assembled in Mexico with 12% American parts content vs model Y at 70% and is assembled in CA and TX for vehicles sold in the US. Also outperforms this on every level, as do others.

  7. The gas Equinox is underpowered and there is no longer an engine upgrade available. So this one even with only one motor is better and the dual motor is safer and more satisfying. The extra power if really important when fully loaded and trying to get up a ramp on the interstate.

  8. Thanks for the review. I think Chevy Equinox EV is by far THE best value in the EV market for the lower trims. But once you start stacking their $3K+ packages on…it's value is diminished. I think it looks quite nice as well. Overall I'm a big fan of the Equinox.

** BUT** I absolutely HATE the blue interior accents in the LT trim and the red accent in the RS trim, it just makes the car look super cheap. I hate it so much I'm not sure that I could purchase the Equinox EV because of it. Imagine buying a red Equinox or a Green one if they offered that color and getting into the car and having a blue accents inside all over the place…WTH! This makes me seriously question the designer who thought this was ok. They should have kept these accent areas a neutral color grey. I'd take boring over tacky/cheap looking ANY DAY! It may seem trivial to some but if you hate the interior it's not so trivial.

The other thing I don't like is having to pay a subscription fee for their SuperCruise after 3 years. Yeah I know we live in a subscription world but I need another Subscription like I need a hole in my head and some people will say "But Tesla charges…". I don't care about Tesla. Chevy you're charging me over +$3.4K for SuperCruise upfront and then making me pay for it again (via subscription fee) every year after. And if I don't pay for it you just disable it?!?!?! I paid for it. If you disable it then I want my money back…If you want to limit map updates or feature updates after 3 years then fine…but simply disabling it is theft…This is another reason I probably will not buy the Chevy Equinox.

  9. Haha – everyone is different I guess. You seem to like the BLUE plastic instead of Piano Black. I am the opposite. I hate that goofy BLUE plastic. Looks cheap IMO. And I have the '22 Bolt 2LT with Apple Carplay and I use WAZE for GPS. I might wait until GM realizes that nobody likes Google when they could have Apple, and GM goes back to providing Apple Carplay so they can sell these cars. Right now, they are piling up on lots. I would buy this vehicle, but Carplay is a show stopper for me.
Always great reviews from you, so thanks.
