  1. I’ve just checked my numbers from trips to France last August and just last week in February. Driving style exactly the same in my Nissan Ariya, travelling entirely on motorways and toll roads at the speed limit, so 70 in UK and 80mph in France. 618 miles at 2.51m/kWh in the summer, and an amazing 636 miles at 2.56m/kWh in the winter. I would say that it wasn’t as cold as you’d expect, it was above zero, and the summer journey was particularly hot at around 35 degrees, but nevertheless I’m pretty impressed
As for these conditions, I remember in December 2022 we had -13 and the summer range on my ZOE of 180 miles was down at 90 miles in that temperature. Still, it beat my Mondeo which wouldn’t even start!

  2. I bought a Hyundai Inster small battery, no winter package, in the beginning of december 2025. During this very cold winter in Denmark I've been getting ~80% of WLTP range, ~90% with climate control off. Mostly going on 80km/h roads and city.

  3. Kia EV series are very efficient in cold weather. I am an EV3 user, and I am satisfied in terms of both comfort and efficiency. Electric Kia are truly different.Greetings from Türkiye!

  4. "Not allowed to use Eco Mode, have to drive in Normal Mode" That's the silliest thing I've ever heard in an EV range test. I've never taken my Kona out of Eco Mode, except to realize all it did was reduce the range and make the accelerator pedal more twitchy. That's like doing a fuel economy test on a combustion car, but stipulating "You have to rev the gas for no reason, every time you step on the pedal."

  5. I hav a ev rav4 it -22 lot of electrical glitches starting to happen around _10 so still drive the Subaru in wintertime. Wich really bothers me cause Subaru are thirsty idling in traffic , been starnded couple times last winter in town and turn key it dead , yes mine's still takes a key where my 2000s ruvs all had fobs . Dealership says dont drive in extreme cold , We in canada Dum ass Toyota, So trade it in for a Kia

  6. Now, we all have heard the criticism about EVs’ poor performance in winter and we all know it is an issue, I never hear anyone retort by saying ‘well, ICE cars lose range and performance in this weather too, so what's the issue?’ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
