Much Improved Electric RAV4! | 2026 Toyota bZ XLE Plus | Detailed Review & Breakdown

Automobiles

When #Toyota finally offered a fully electric mass produced SUV in America in 2023, the #ToyotabZ4X had a weird name and unimpressive specs as an electric vehicle. For 2026, the #bZ4X transforms into simple the #ToyotabZ and this #ElectricRAV4 sized family SUV gets some much needed EV upgrades including a larger battery pack with up to 314 miles of range and a standard Tesla style NACS charge port with much quicker charging speeds. The #bZ also gets updated styling and improved interior tech and the result is a shockingly good vehicle that also happens to be priced very well in its segment.

  1. Toyota wants to win EV buyers back and pull Tesla owners away, yet they want you to pay extra for the Limited trim to get the JBL Premium Audio system unlike the forthcoming Highlander EV. As far as not having a frunk, in the 2 years I owned a Model Y, I used it a grand total of once.

  2. This is the review I've been waiting for. I was looking at the front wheel drive Toyota EV. Too bad the CHR only comes in all-wheel drive. 0-60 in only 6.3 seconds is definitely adequate.

  3. Still a piece of crap. 2026 and it still can not do basic EV stuff. No EV route planning with charges and preconditioning. No walk up unlock or walk away lock. These cars are the ID Buzz for Toyota. Pure Crap for the amount of time Toyota has had….

  4. I’m glad Toyota has made substantial improvements. The efficiency is impressive. I want them to add one pedal driving and route planning and get rid of the weird instrument cluster and the black cladding that is still present on some colors. The BZ woodland will be a bit hit.

  5. Your comment about the front trunk on every EV is very annoying. If does, great, doesn't then a smaller overall profile or more space elsewhere. I'll watch this review over on AlexAuto or another channel.

  6. I wanted to love this car and would have bought it, but that display unit blocked the view of the hood and road. I couldn't stand it which was a bummer because I liked most other features.

  7. Can't wait for solid state batteries to become the go to … quicker charging, more power dense, more stable/ safer. Imagine driving ~700 miles in a mid-sized suv on a single charge..

  8. Automakers never let you forget when you buy the "poverty spec" version of their vehicles because they always have blank button covers over all the features you don't get in those models😅
