  1. When leasing who cares what the RRP is and depreciation is irrelevant..The overwhelming majority just just rinse repeat every 2-3 years..people cannot afford £30-40k but can find £200 a month.

  2. Octopus energy offer some nice cars with upfront cost of just a months rental…. Everything included which I’m tempted by. There has to be a con In there somewhere but can see it. Be good to know your thoughts ?

  3. Ive been leasing for years and never paid car tax as it's always included because you can't tax it as you don't own the car

  4. They are DESPERATE to get us all on the old EV’s.
    You’ve got to ask why?
It will not be for the Emvironment or for saving us money.

  5. Having different deposit values for these cars makes the monthly payment pointless to compare. Really need to used a common £1000 deposit and recalculate the equivalent monthly costs. Same goes for different mileage allowances. How long are the leases? Also, you can't always be in the market when the 'best' deals are available. Leases are fixed term.

  6. I will never buy a VW group EV again. I have Skoda enyaq sports line big battery. Terrible mileage. No regen.
The German monopoly is coming to a end.
Buy south Korean or Chinese. Amazing!

  7. Great video. However, isn't it worth considering how insurance costs would add to the affordability (or not) of these? I'm not a EV owner, but the scare stories I've heard of extortionate insurance costs put me off.

  8. Everything the author says is absolutely true. I personally already leased a Frontera. This particular option suited me very well. But for general information, I'd like to add: the situation with inexpensive leasing is part of the globalists' policy. The idea is to use, not own. I don't know how long this policy will last, but we should take advantage of it while we can.

  9. Hi I hope you don’t mind if I ask you a favour . I was in Skipton about a year ago and I went to the market and bought my first Peaky Blinders flat cap , or as we call them in Scotland a bunnet. Anyway I’ve lost it and would like a new one . This is where the favour comes in , next time you are near the market could you give my mobile number to the guy who sell the hats, so I can order another one. If I could PM you with the number that would be great . Thanks. Keep up the good work . Ian Beattie from Blantyre near Glasgow

  10. When you work out the overall cost, then spread it over 24 months? It doesn’t sound so good. Capri is almost £420 a month, or £10,000 plus over 2 years, and you own nothing.

  11. You forget one important "detail" , that i think ppl would be very interested in: what happens at the end of the lease? You just give it back? Balloon payment, etc

  12. Can you please do a no deposit lease deals. I don’t want to pay anything upfront just want a cheap 2 or 3 year deal at 8 or 10k miles. THANK YOU

  13. Thanks for this video.
I'm just about to replace my 23 plate company Model Y with a second hand one of similar age.
After seeing this I'm going to have a look at leasing.
I do 25 to 30k miles per year, so it probably won't be worth it, but you never know.

  14. No man maths, my eNiro, which i bought outright has cost me about £5500 per annum, over 4 years, for everything, tyres service fuel insurance and depreciation. Thats about £460 per month with no deposit.
Now what i want is a transport solution, not a car. So yes, leasing for me would have been a better option.

  15. You could get Renault Scenics, one of the best EVs for £300 nothing down, 10k a year miles last year. So 3600 pounds a year all in- that wouldn’t touch what you would lose on depreciation.
Why don’t you want to lease? If it’s cheaper than buying (or PCPing and very few have any equity on the balloon now so it’s leasing by another name) it is a no brainer.
Your examples mainly include big deposits, I always only lease with 1 payment down (effectively nothing as that includes the first payment) or 3 max.

  16. I am currently looking for my first ev currently its between a newer citreon c4x and a older 2021 tesla have looked at lease but the fear of scraches being charged or the car being in an accident scares me away

  17. Will see how i feel after 2 years but had my Puma Gen-e 6 weeks and its crazy value for what it is and early signs are its as efficient as i dared to hope. Ev's especially are attractive as the market is still developing so what i like today could be usurped in 2 years and i cant afford to take the hit each time but leasing at the right price means you can reassess.

  18. I'm mad jealous. In this jurisdiction, I had a quick look and the cheapest EV lease I could find was up around the high €300.

Bear bones Tesla Model 3 RWD quotes "€11,900 down payment, 48 months, 10,000 kilometers, €36,484" and at the end of that you have to hand the car back? Doesn't suit me. We lack a competitive leasing business here, it appears.

  19. I struggle with the argument of "cheap runaround lease" when you can buy a cheap car, even a cheap EV that's sure a bit scruffy and old but you can own it for little more than the most expensive down payments on these leases, leases aren't cheap. The security is worth it to some, but as a 2nd vehicle that sounds like an unnecessary expense when you can just buy a cheap car 🤷

  20. That Cupra Born looks good until you factor in the high initial rental. It averages out at £338.50 per month. I have an ID.3 Pro S Match (79kWh battery) coming on Monday for £331 pcm with £331 initial rental and 12k miles a year. Practically the same price but much bigger battery and more miles. I was looking for a 59kWh VAG car but this deal stood out and was cheaper than smaller battery options at the time. Always factor in the initial rental and any admin fees when comparing deals

  21. I currently salary sacrifice, but the prices are rediculous, for example the 5N on my scheme as a high rate tax payer is £540! Ok there’s no deposit and it includes insurance etc, but where’s my 40% saving?

  22. Nice video. That was a surprise amount for the Frontera, almost tempting. I'm a "buy them 10 years old and run them into the ground" sort of person.

  23. With leasing, it's best to pay the lowest initial payment, say one month's lease cost.
The reason being, if the vehicle is unfortunate enough to be involved in an incident that writes it off, that initial payment is lost. The lease company gets the insurance payment, so recover their losses, but the leaser doesn’t get that initial payment back.

So I'd not lease a vehicle with an expensive up front payment, simply because life happens.
Our Ioniq 5 has been hit on all 4 corners in 18 months, all by other people bumping into it while it's parked. It's the most unlucky vehicle I've ever had, but at least the damage has been minor, although still expensive to repair, especially as on 2 occasions, the person damaging it just drove off, leaving us with the repair bill.
