  1. Very nice review! Thank you. I hate it when reviewers say that they cannot feel the tires during corners and the wheel is light like it is something negative. If you want that go buy a sports car.

  2. My missus has one of these at the moment as a replacement car for her Sportage which is off the road, I have driven it and can honestly say I like it a lot, I would agree its not for tear-asses but well equiped. My only complaint and it's the same as her sportage, the contstant chimes and warnings get on your nerves. Overall I concur with you totally Nick.

  3. The UK government is so dedicated to ensuring its people enjoy goods that are both 'premium' and, more importantly, 'premium-priced', that they've graciously doubled the cost of all Chinese EVs. And yet, those ungrateful citizens still haven't said thanks for the privilege of paying twice as much!

  4. Try it in winter mate. Not even that, +2 weather. All christmass lights on dash, no sensors or cameras are working. TP lights on. After driving for an hour still all lights on dash. Can even put on cruise control.

  5. The thing about manufacturing in China is that they can make something extremely cheap like those knock off products or high end high quality products like iPhones and PlayStations.
I’m old enough to remember when American car makers made fun of those funny little Japanese cars.

  6. I live in Thailand and bought this car in January 2025. My previous car was an MGHS PHEV and the BYD is a much better car – it’s more comfortable, better equipped, more efficient, much quieter (you can hardly tell when the engine kicks in – which isn’t very often)and no more expensive. My economy figures since new are 12.0kWh/100km+0.7L/100km. Most of my journeys are within the range of the battery – in the warm weather of Thailand I can get almost 100 km before the engine kicks in, hence I filled it up with petrol last November and I still have 86% left!!

  7. Ive got the car as my company car. 15k miles so far.
    Pros:
havent had to change my tires yet.
    Everything in tact
Sunroof is excellent, can use hi byd or button steering.
Great features all round and plentiful of space inside for driver and passengers.

    Cons:
(This might be every hybrid or electric) due to the regen break back tires disk probably will need changing when due in service in 5k miles. As has been rubbed against by the pads. Back tires rarely get used as mostly me in front.
Other con is parking like you mentioned. Can be tricky getting in and out or finding a good spot, cameras are excellent though in getting in a tight spot.

    Thanks 😊

  8. Had a Volvo xc 40 t5 recharge for 2 years
Spent 6 weeks in the garage getting 3 major components replaced
Still has issues with the electric transmission

    Sold it

    Bought aBYD seal udmi comfort

    Superior motor in every way

  9. Emmm, I’m from China. This car, "宋Plus DMI", used to be a very cost-effective option about two years ago, and it still has a relatively large ownership base. However, the Chinese auto market is evolving rapidly. As of now, it has been surpassed by other models within the same brand and is no longer a top choice. Of course, I mean this in comparison with other models in the same price range.

  10. Not a car for me as towing capacity is rubbish, but certainly offers good value for money. If all I was doing is shortish journeys though I would probably go for a full BEV unless I didn’t have off street parking
