I love this. You will too! Subscribe here: www.youtube.com/@therightcar?sub_confirmation=1–

But you’ll have to decide whether the new Audi RS3 is worth a six-figure sum. This car? About $120K!

Is it worth that? For a five-cylinder fury monster with AWD and 500Nm? To some people it will be.

But I’ve called out some alternatives you might want to consider in this review… some of them are cheaper, too!

ALTERNATIVES:

Honda Civic Type R – https://youtu.be/KHdaMT22lnk

VW Golf GTI (Golf R review coming) – https://youtu.be/vSr_6cT2Y10

  1. The correct way to overtake in an RS3 is stay in the inside lane of the autobahn at 220 km/h and watch the mere mortals get out of the way with the occasional flick of the lights….

  2. BMW M2 CS is probably the only thing that's the closest to the RS3 (though I haven't driven this year's model yet). I don't think anyone shopping for a RS3 would be looking at a Type R or a Golf R.

  3. We have a 2025 RS3. we bought it in June of 2025. I love this car. Everyday, I find myself looking for a reason to go somewhere so I can drive it. We also have a 2023 Golf R. We also love our Golf, but RS3 is a different beast. I drove the Honda Type R before we bought our Golf and I found it to be a good FWD car, but nothing as special as what everyone makes it sound. At the end of the day, it is a FWD car with all the restrictions that goes with cars that put down their power and steer through the same axel (traction issues in inclement weather, wheel hoppin during hard acceleration, no traction off the line, etc.). BMW is a great track car, but hard to live with day to day. RS3 was the car that checked all the boxes and has come through delivering all the goods. We have owned lots of nice sports cars over the years, but our RS3 is my all time favorite car to take for a drive. I highly recommend it.

  4. Doesn’t sound as great as they used to, surprisingly laggy and the dual clutch feels very agricultural compared to the 4 cylinder options (it’s the same one as in the VW transporter). Then they’ve ruined the interior. Sad, it’s a car I wanted to love.

  5. I drove an S3. The gloss black plastics were a turn off, the gear selector area looks cheap and nasty. And frankly it was 20k overpriced at 92k DA. I bought a new Mini Countryman JCW instead for 25k less at 68k drive away. Same power as the S3, AWD also and frankly a better interior than the S3. It was just so hard to justify the S3 at these crazy prices, irrespective of how good it was.

  6. Hi I'm Matt…y'know from The Right Car.
I've come to hand the RS3 back from my test week, I did go off into the trees once or twice….🙃
    but It's fine…really, truly-ruly
Is the S8 ready to be picked up?….hello?.

  7. Cracking car no doubt but at this price point, I'd stretch the budget for the S5 Avant. Looks a lot classier, more room and stands out being a wagon; in comparison to the boy-racer RS3 imo
