Just test drove the two, went to the dealer to buy the crown.
The crown is really nice but when it comes down to it:
– recycled parts with all other crowns
– 1 gen old powertrain
– 1 gen old tech
– less roomy, (but more cargo)
– lots of piano black
– is less fuel efficient
– rear seats are short and provide no thigh support!
– sunroof doesn't open
– is more expensive
– has worse resale value.
– engine noise is louder than the RAV4
stepped into both. Sadly the new rav4 is all glamour for looks and built very cheap with terrible road noise. The crown was as quiet as the new current gen honda pilots which you can yell and can barely be heard a foot away which is nice for the ears. Nothing rattles or squeaked on the crown compared to a brand new rav4, clearly build quality difference is not to be overlooked at these when you get into them and drive them in real life. Im disappointed in the new rav4 its all for looks but the same cheapo plastic road noisy ecobox as last gen. To future buyers do yourself a favor and get the crown for a quiet durable quality ride or get the crv/pilot for the same experience. The new rav4 is eye candy dont be fooled, still sucks (you still cant fit two 6 ft adults or teenagers in the back of a rav4 without feeling like a boxed in animal)
The Crown Signia is Lexus-level luxury, no doubt about it. That’s my next car, most likely.
I rather have the Crown car just because it's so unique. I'm bored with crossovers
Bought our CSL in early January. Can't say enough about the quiet ride, comfort and overall quality of the Crown. I like the fact that there aren't too many imported so you don't see a lot of others on the road (we haven't seen one in the wild). We looked at RAV4s as well, but the look of the CSL coupled with the quiet cabin noise sold us. My wife's daily driver and very happy with it.
I won't buy another Toyota with such poor ground clearance. Stop doing it, Toyota. That Crown has barely more clearance than my Prius and I was scraping that on driveway aprons since the moment I drove it off the lot. I probably scraped it leaving the damn lot..
I'm not a fan of the non-tinted rear windows in the Crown (supposedly because it is a sedan/wagon vs a SUV).
If the Crown had 8+ inches of ground clearance, I'd jump on that! With the station wagon body style, the roof becomes so much more useful!
No spare in the Crown. Spare in the RAV4. BAM!
I recently rented a RAV4 and was not impressed at all. The narrative of Toyota quality and resale is leading many to accept bland driving dynamics and somewhat unrefined interiors. If you are happy to drive around in an appliance, go for a RAV4. Crown Signia looks nicer, but won’t drive any better. Take a long test drive on a Mazda CX30 or CX5, or an Audi Q3 and you’ll get a taste of what a small SUV driving experience can be.
We'd probably buy the Crown but it's just too long for our little garage.
RAV4 for the win – WITH A SPARE TIRE, and a little bit of a bumper beyond the back hatch for rear protection!!
Shoot, they both have cheese grater grilles. I wish I could unsee it.
Comparing two Toyotas for their interior is like comparing two German cousins for their sense of humor….
Crown Signia far superior vehicle. RAV4 drives/rides like a pickup truck, suspension sucks. For Luxury smooth overall driving experience the Crown Signia wins hands down.
Looking homeless is not a good look!
Ben you neglected to say that the crown signia does not have a spare tire and the rav 4 does!
Big miss!
Nah I’d rather have a 4Runner
I have 2026 crown signia with the tech advance package. Way better than the rav4 2026
Drove my neighbors Crown back from dropping him at the airport.
If I had the funds, I'd buy the Crown tomorrow and I'm a Honda guy at heart.
I think the Crown is built in Japan and shipped here. For some reason, the build quality in Japan seems to be better than the build quality from Kentucky. Check the door panel place for build location.
RAV 4 for me.
What's your thoughts about the japanese exclusive crown sport. You think it will ever come to the usa.
I am debating between rav4 limited and crown signia. My wife has to sit on the rear seats with a baby. So, how high the rear seats really matter to us. We have civic now. So, could you please tell if there is difference a person will feel while sitting on the rear seats? Means higher seats will give SUV like feeling, which we want. Thanks.
But can they drive me to Walmart by themselves like a Tesla can?🤔
Lock/unlock on the front and rear doors on the Crown Signia, on the front door only on the RAV4. Crown Signia is made in Japan.
Do you really need to speak that quick ??
Crown doors are thicker more like BMW. For safety, this is discussed in other videos.
Nobody realy wants to buy ugly Crown. That's the point of videos like this – increase sales of this overprices sh1t.
Criwn is like Camry (not a Lexus at all)
WANT TO SELL SHIT…Where's my old friend? Instead of a good 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, they started producing all sorts of crap, installed a turbocharged piece of crap and a lousy CVT transmission instead of a good automatic, plus all these hybrids, these BITCHES left me no choice. I drove a RAV4 for 30 years, and now there are no normal manufacturers left. CRAP.

I really like the Crown Signia. If they made a GR version with the 324hp RAV4 PHEV powertrain, I'd LOVE it.
Is Toyota still sticking their buyers with the "Experience Drive Connect" banner, which takes over the display at random times? (It's an ad for an optional subscription service.) I have a 2023 Rav 4 Prime. Yesterday this "Nag Screen" popped up 15 times. I would reach over and turn it off, but every time I backed up the car, it popped back on again, necessitating reaching over and pressing the button yet again. I understand this behavior is a common, um, "feature" in Toyota vehicles. I have called Toyota several times about this, and they always tell me the advertising banner cannot be deleted (which is a lie, if they wanted they could offer new software to eliminate the problem). And I actually did try it out for 3 months. Never ONCE needed the features specific to the paid subscription (which starts at $15 a month, not cheap). So I have already "Experienced" Drive Connect. And yet, the screen keeps nagging me to "Experience" it yet again. These pricks are not taking no for an answer. It's basically a ransom demand. I guess the $50,000 I paid for my car is not enough, Toyota is clearly desperate for even more of my money.
Is it a realistic comparison when one costs 10K more than the other?
We love our 2025 rav 4. Very satisfied with purchase
Will take whichever is Made in Japan and has a better quality, which I suspect will be the Crown Signia.
Great comparison! These SUVs are truly unique (and iconic) in their own ways 🙌
Get the crown there's to many rav4s
Can you compare the TSS and the driving performance of the powertrains between the two?
There’s just something about the rear end taillights as a Toyota owner….the RAV4 taillights look similar to the current generation Nissan Rogue
Basically Toyota added an “Outback” to its line up with crown signia for station wagon.
well, I just traded a crown signia limited back in for a 2026 rav 4 xse and I will say the crown is a nicer car all around. However, the crown moonroof does NOT open. IT has NO spare tire. IT''s engine is WAY louder than the new RAV and the crown also has the older hybrid system and the new version in the RAV is more seamless and peppy than ever. The new RAV also has a fresh set of monitors in the dash that feel current and more modern than the crown. The new media interface is perfection. The visibility in The RAV is also way better. The only caveat so far is the ride is a little more firm on the XSE but, I absolutely like it better. I do agree my XSE was too much $ at $44k. The 2026 RAV is like the New Camry and Toyota did them both so darn good this time. The RAV is decently fun to drive as well.
edit, Now that I have had the Rav at night several times it should be noted that the Rav has way way way better headlights than the crown too.
