  1. Nice review Tim. Just got one of these GT Line middle spec hybrids. Really impressed however shame Kia didn't find a way to incorporate electric seats, 360 camera and other really handy features in this model, leaving the less essential panoramic sunroof and HUD for the top model only. Or alternatively introduce another model just shy of the £40k level. I did mid lancashire to Holdsworthy, Devon on £40 of fuel yesterday averaging 41mpg, so decent. I did find the seats to be a bit uncomfortable after about 100 miles and found there was a small gap between the right edge of the sun visor and the front pillar which lets the sunlight stream through. So had to unclip the visor and reposition which I've never had to do in any other car. Some other niggles such as no ambient lighting in the mid tier version but all in all very satisfied.

  2. I have the same car in Gt Line….mileage getting 50 – 54 mpg driving at permitted speeds. The car will use EV until around 42ish mph. Maybe you ought to adjust the regenerative braking? Slightly firm on the 19” Michelins, but otherwise very pleased.

  3. I bought the GT line in August and I really don’t like it due to far too many small issues – like disabling the alarm when leaving dogs in the boot is in a menu 3 screens in . Dial for drive / reverse too easy to think you’ve selected the right gear but you haven’t & the warning systems that have to be disabled every time you drive . It’s lots so much value since August I don’t feel I can change it now 😢

  4. Just got a GT line S HEV. Boot is very small compared to my Tiguan, can get 2 sets of golf clubs and a trolley in my Tiguan without having to put the seats down. Cannot even fit 1 set in the Kias boot. Pretty dissapointing

  5. Had two previous versions of the self charging hybrid and two weeks ago picked up the new 2026 GT Line model. Really happy with the exterior styling tweaks. Interior is a nicer place to be compared to the older version with the contrasting trim and new steering wheel. No major additions to the spec apart from two heat settings for the steering wheel compared to the previous one (I don’t think I could live without heated seats and steering wheel now) the removal of the piano black centre console trim shows they are listening to customer feedback, the new grey carbon look is so much better. The biggest difference I’m enjoying more is the gearbox, they have gone from a 7 speed DCT to a standard 6 speed and it no longer over revs around corners, the DCT would often guess wrong and embarrass you. My only gripe is there are no options, you can’t ask for a power tail gate, sunroof, or even wireless charging pad, you have to stump up another £6k for the GT Line S to get all that and then you are into the realms of luxury tax at nearly £700 🤪 I’m not surprised it the best selling small SUV in the UK, it deserves the title 👌 The GT Line hybrid comes with 19” wheels (no option for 18”) they do look nice and fill the arches but it does make it a bit harsher on uneven or potholed roads and let’s face it we have plenty of those 😡

  6. Across the pond, it is also a best seller for Kia in the states. However, we prefer turbo engine power to the hybrid. But Kia hasn't offered the 2.5L turbo yet…..😤🙄

  7. I have had two Kia Sportage cars in the last 8 years and have a 72 plate one which is a fantastic car, but I am downsizing to a smaller vehicle this week as I don’t need a big car anymore. They have been brilliant cars for me .

  8. I got the same car from Motorpoint in the electric green and love it, However, I'm getting much better mpg, around 50 around town and nearly 60 on a good run! Defiantly agree the self charging hybrid GT Line is the one to go for IMHO
