Since the Mk5 GR Supra is on its final model year, let’s revisit how it drives and whether this base 6 speed model is the one to get.

"Last chance" when I can't afford the damn thing
last chance of what ,wasting your money? this gen supra is piece of shit. i owned for a year, terrible chassic dynamic, horrible visiblity, if you want a sport car just go for a used 911.2, dont waste your money on this shit.
insight when
I can't get over the hideous front of this car. I test drove one and it's like sitting in a coffin. I'm glad it exists but it's not for me.
I'm surprised it only cost $59,000.
Wish it had a targa top like my 87 Supra.
lol gt350 any day over this
The ZF 8speed is calibrated by ZF, not by Toyota. Just fyi.
For $20k il buy a honda s2000 any days
Ugly car…
Bless 🙌🏾
Imagine me telling you I will sell you a bmw with a Toyota supra badge would you buy it?
Not many
I like these quite a lot but I think I like the BMW version even better (Z4 manual). Coupe or convertible choice aside they are a lot of car for the money and more than enough for street driving fun with some daily driving luxuries included.
It will age like fine wine.
You make better videos then jubbal.
You talk car; jubbal talks car then rants off topic
This interior is exactly what I'm looking for from the future mk 6. Physical buttons, good steering wheel, clean interior. Good touch surfaces. Very nice engine.
The exterior design itself looks awesome, and I do hope that Toyota brings the 4.0L V8 in the GR GT to the future Mk 6 and just makes it a 400hp naturally aspirated engine, similar to the 5.0L V8 in the Lexus range.
Too broke to buy a new one, hope to buy one used eventually
The Mk5 started off on the wrong foot. The FT-1 concept looked so cool (IMO). It looked so great in pictures I could only imagine the in-person presence that it had. Then the Mk5 comes out and it looked like a bad artist tried to paint the Mona Lisa, just derpy in comparison. It seems like a cool car overall and it looks nice in person to me, but it's not the FT-1 which I 100% would have bought. I can definitely see why people like them and I understand why Toyota couldn't translate the FT-1 concept into production. Maybe in the future based on the GR GT chassis?
i think with all these cars, the base is the way to go. you can upgrade them to much better than the next package up, for much, much cheaper. Unless it's an engine thing, then it depends where you live.
I love that you were able to get a comparison of the FE and this one. Base Supras are such great value!
It was a good run
Good riddance bmw z4 hardtop
It was a good run, well done Toyota for collaborating with BMW to rein in on costs.
Every time I sit in one of these I’m instantly like, “nope.” Feels like you’re sitting in the bottom of a bowl. Horrific visibility.
The Mk5 looks gorgeous in person. A neighbor owns a yellow one he bought in 2022 and it's parked in his driveway, a headturner.
How would you compare this to the Z? Which did you enjoy more?
Any chance to get a 911T vs Supra 6speed, both 3l Rwd sports coupe. Is the 911 worth double the money
Oh look it’s the about the same price as the new prelude ….
I could never get conformable with its styling…a shame as I think its reasonable value for what it offers.
The base base models practically don't exist. You can't option anything anyway. You get what Toyota gives you.
got a good deal on a manual 3 months ago, can’t think of a car i’d get rid of it for besides MAYBE a c8. everything else i would consider is pretty much twice the price. I don’t think i would even trade this in for an s58 M, its that good
as a note, i personally think this car needs to have the blind spot monitoring feature as the blind spot is pretty bad. not sure if you can spec that in the base but it’s much needed driving in the city.
Wondering if I should get this or the new Prelude 🤔 😂
if you had to do it over again would you get this supra or the m2c again
Thank god this shitbox is gone
Good Riddance Supra. You were an accountants wet dream, sold to gullible Fast and Furious 'tards who couldn't/didnt want to see that the car was really just a cynical attempt to re-panel a BMW Z4, a car you'd buy for your dont-care-about-cars-at-all mistress. I wont miss your melted gummy bear exterior or cringe-lord owners either. Bye.
Bought mine back in march 20205 and yeah I agree in stock form it leans more toward sporty GT car with the suspension settings, but I feel like that's what makes it such a fantastic sportscar on the street. Sure it isn't the stiffest thing in the road but it does the combination of the normal driving and the backroad bombing so well, especially with being able to change damper settings between normal and sport.
Awesome review Fenton!😊
Have a 2024 manual premium. Couldn't be happier. However, I have a friend with 305/30 in the rear, and 275/35 in the front; on forged rims, with a camber kit… handles and hooks a lot more.
So how much are the dealers asking for? Toyota stealerships "know what they got"
Good luck finding a base 6MT.
I looked for almost 2 years and could never find a white on black 6MT supra anywhere and none of my dealer could order one or find one that wasn't preallocated.
Happy they brought the Supra name back but I hate the fact that it’s just a masked BMW. Same with the GR86. I understand it was to cut cost and they’re both great but my OCD side just can’t get over the mix mash of brands. Sigh…
This is why I think the GR Corolla is their best car and Hope the next MR2 is a pure Toyota car motor/chassis in all.
Bought one new back in 2021…. Still have it. 😂
The super sports are wonderful, even better in the dry than the 4S. Stiffer sidewall too.
Definitely a blank canvas! Easy to drive daily and you can mod to the moon. The potential of this car has a high ceiling. It is def fast stock, but the feeling of the car needs to be maximized. I am definitely modding to get the rawness with the steering, shifter, clutch etc to feel the car more.
Bought one 3 months ago before I couldn’t find a clean example. No better car for the money.
5:17 ps5 is not a replacement for ps4s
I would agree 100% with buying the base model and modding to your specific needs, but the danger of negating the warranty has to be considered and mitigated. My guess is the next gen Supra will be hybrid AWD mated to a G20E. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
