Drivers side window has started to make a loud noise and is slow to close in my Golf Mk6. Am I right in thinking it needs the regulator replacing?

REGULATORS, mount up!
I used WD-40 Sillicone, worked a treat.
Just lube up the runners inside the door card, you might even find the lubricate you need in the Aldi middle isle while your there!

You could try some grease first on the runners / tracks and some silicone spray on the rubbers. Rubber over time can become quite sticky so give that a go first.
Door card off, lubricate the runners, door card back on.
Pop off the door card, use a rag to clean the old lubricant and apply fresh lubricant

Use proper grease not WD40 that will only work till it dries out
