The Dacia Sandero might be a small car – or at least a compact one – but it’s big news, as the Dacia hatchback has been the best-selling car in Europe for many years. More significantly than that mere best-seller status though is the fact that the Dacia Sandero is by far the favourite car of Europe’s private buyers – in other words, those people going out and spending their own money on a new car, rather than just ticking the box on a company car user-chooser form. A conscious shopping decision, not just a set of keys left on your desk.
That, arguably, makes the updated Dacia Sandero the most important new car – well, hardly entirely new, but certainly meaningfully updated – that we will review this year. It’s not electric. It’s not a supercar. It’s not Chinese. But it is the car that most European car buyers will buy, which speaks to its strengths.

no, the engine Eco-G 1.0 has a problem with air-conditioning. Dacia said they will fix it in 2026 😅
i remember buying my sandero stepway in 2021 (when it launched) with 14500 euros, fully loaded with everything possible back then (only heated seat missing). wtf is 24000 euros for a sandero these days?
Have you seen the price of the headlamps? So no more
Muy buen vídeo y excelentemente bien explicado. Desde España, un cordial saludo 😊
В 2026 в "лучшем автомобиле" фара с рефлектором???? Вы серьёзно?🤬 А что делать с дерьмовым пластиком в салоне и тупым монитором? Внешне она неплоха, но на этом всё.
not made in roumania anymore. i am curious about the quality
is Dacia Sandero Europe's best car probably yes !!
U cannot buy LPG in Ireland ? Why ?
No – rubbish
No …is not the best Europe's car.. is the cheapest…and most convenient in many respects😂
Was at a Dacia dealer last week & really impressed by the Sandero Stepway (the one in the showroom was the same magnificent colour as this one). Drove very well too.
In 2015 I bought a brand new Sandero Stepway 1.5 diesel. Compared with current model it is like a car from the 1980s. No aircon, no electric rear windows and the controls for the front ones are on the dashboard. Only a AM/FM radio, no centre armrest and basic hard black plastic door cards and dashboard. However, on the positives, it easily travels at motorway speeds, acceleration is quite good and mpg is good. I paid £9k when new, and apart from servicing and wear and tear items, only two things has failed, the rear exhaust box and windscreen washer pump, total repair cost was £155. I still drive the car every day and it is the only car I've owned which hasn't a single creak from the trim. Best value car I've ever owned.
No its a piece of crap I owned one.
I've always liked the look of them. Actually think the Stepway is the least good looking of the three best sellers, the Sandero & Duster much better. If they're reliable, safe & good value, that'll do.
Camera?😮
It would be great to compare Dacia Sandero and its counterpart on the same platform — LADA Iskra
Not exactly cheap anymore considering how much they cost only a couple of years or so but given today's ridiculous prices for cars they are still value for money even though the interior still looks a bit cheap plastic. Over all a good reliable little city car thats more affordable than its competitors .
I looked at one last July and thought it was great! But the price is not cheap anymore, maybe value for money is a more realistic phrase but even that is niggling me! I think a used low mileage example would be better value now! Also, turning the brand into a 'outdoor' camping style brand wears a little thin!
Hi, is there a "Hold" function on automatic handbreak, when the car is stopped for example at traffic light?
Without watching the video, i'd say no.
The Jogger takes that prize, it has a bigger trunk space, so you have enough space to fit the whole baby's logistical nightmare in the boot.
Had my Sandero stepway now 15 months now and not one thing as gone wrong with it not even a warning light one the dash 🚓😀keep it simple
this car looks awesome !
Spot the brain-fart at 6.56 when the word 'awning' just disappears entirely from my head for a second…
Dacia may have found the winning formula: affordable, reliable cars that now look better than some premium models. While the industry keeps making cars bigger, pricier, and overloaded with unused tech, demand for simple, good-looking, practical cars is only growing — and Dacia is perfectly positioned for it.
