  1. Unless the value of your car is really low, I would recommend full coverage. God forbid, if you get in an accident and you are determined to be at fault, you may need the coverage for a new vehicle. You also need coverage in case the other driver is uninsured.

  2. This was great advice when 10 yr old cars or older were $500.00 to purchase. Now that they are $8,000.00 + for anything decent I’m not too sure how this is gonna pan out. Imma look into bmx tho…

  3. What did you mean you would use his insurance to go to the mechanic? Is there some kind of insurance that covers repairs that aren’t in an accident or did you mean in the event of an accident the wording was vague

  4. I believe the liability should be on the person driving and not on the vehicle.
That way whatever vehicle you sit down in would be covered by liability insurance.
But that makes to much sense so it'll never happen. 🤔

  5. Insurance wouldn’t even be bad if they gave you back 50-70% of the payments you made if you didn’t file a claim during the period you had them

  6. I hope someone sees this. I called for a lower quote after being insured with Progressive for over ten years. They wouldn't even budge on a dollar.
So I went to GEICO. They gave me 30 dollars off a month, and threw in renters insurance.
Definitely worth shopping for. Progressive was so upset that I found better. That they actually threw in an extra bill. I'm disputing it. If anyone knows any other money saving tips. Lmk

  7. Yeah, I couldn't sell my used truck for more than about $1200, which is I think what I paid for it 20 yrs ago. I never paid for anything other than liability, which has saved me maybe $20,000 in premiums over that period of time.

  8. Bros wrong. Full coverage covers rental expenses, car repair expenses, and the whole shabang. I hope you don't get into trouble but this is something to consider greatly.

  9. Yeah if you got a car that not worth anything maybe. But you are insuring more than the car. You are insuring your assets if you get into an accident. If you got house land and cash in a bank . You better get full coverage .

  10. I pay $3000/yr. I use my car in my business. It better be a commercial policy. I'll be chatting up my agent Monday… It's a 2007 matrix worth about 3000!! But they just gave me $2000 for a new back bumper that only cost me $200 4 months ago

  11. You are paying for every abuser out there that either wants to line their pockets or for all the uninsured/underinsured illegals running the roads. Someone has to pay. That’s you!

  12. This is kind of a tricky thing. It all depends on the people, places, and things. Full coverage isn't ALWAYS a huge amount more. If you have a vehicle that's not worth allot, and you have a decent amount of disposable income, or you are putting ALL of the money in an account that you're "saving" by not having full coverage, that may be okay. Everyone's situation is different. But, keep in mind, collision repair is expensive even on an old car! I owned a Body Shop for several years in an area where the average car that came into my shop was at least 10 years old. I can't tell you how often I had people come in with a wrecked car that only had PL/PD (public liability/public damage) insurance and wanted to pay out of pocket to get the car fixed. The cost of repairs of course usually was more than the replacement value of the car. Notice I didn't say more than the car was worth…. because to them, the car was invaluable as they needed it to get to work and take care of their family. But, they were up a creek without a paddle.Because not only were they not going to get anything from their insurance by not having full coverage, but they hadn't put ANY of that "saved" money away towards the day they'd have to repair or replace that vehicle and they didn't earn enough money to, AT A MOMENTS NOTICE, buy another car….. no matter how cheap!! If they had put that money away, or paid a little more for full coverage, they would've at least had some money to put towards another vehicle as a down payment. In the end, they were screwed and now without transportation
