Bentley Bentayga W12 Service | The Reality Behind a ‘Clear History’ | The Car Edition

Automobiles

A 2017 Bentley Bentayga W12 came into The Car Edition for a routine service, spark plugs, oil and oil filter but as always, we carried out a proper health check before starting work.

This vehicle has a clear history, yet during our inspection we identified previous crash damage, raising important questions about how much a history report really tells you.

This vehicle was purchased from GVE, a UK car dealer that is now unfortunately in administration (see official records). The current owner brought their own service parts, which we found unboxed in the boot.

Check your car’s history before you buy! carVertical helps uncover mileage rollbacks, hidden damage and more using data from official records.

In this video, we cover:
• Spark plug, oil, and oil filter service on a W12 engine
• Why clear history doesn’t always tell the full story
• What buyers should look out for on high-value used cars

This is real mechanic insight, filmed in a working garage, not speculation, not accusations, just what we physically found on the car.

🔍 POPULAR SEARCH QUESTIONS – ANSWERED

No. Not all accidents are reported or claimed through insurance.

Is it normal for sellers to supply service parts?
It happens, but buyers should always verify part quality and correctness.

Are Bentley Bentayga W12 engines reliable?
They’re powerful and complex — maintenance and inspection are critical.

Should you get a health check on a luxury car even with full history?
Absolutely. Especially on high-value vehicles.

  1. love the content lads me and my boss watch you guys on our brake sometimes be cool if you could shout him out in a video sometime (CHADDY) hes always watching lol
    watching from cork ireland
ps. If you guys do shout him out be sure to remind him he doesn't pay me enough 🤣

  2. This felt less like a service video and more like a story about modern car ownership, smoke, mirrors, and a W12 quietly judging everyone involved. Honest graft, real frustration, and zero pretending that a Bentley badge makes life easier under the bonnet. The bit about learning on the job hit home. Every mechanic has a first time and the good ones document it instead of hiding it. Also, that wire holding things together says more about online car sales than any spec sheet ever could. Solid watch. Real world stuff.

  3. What a dumb fk comment to say he wouldn’t let this guy touch his car. I’d let ANY of these Car Edition guys work on my car they all seem like fkn brilliant mechanics

  4. 1st time, how many Bentaga owners know how to open the bonnet, let alone want to get their hands dirty. If I coukd afford one I wouldn't mess with the oily bits either 😂😂😂

  5. Practice best school, doesn't matter first time you do car like this or not. There's people who does dozens times same car and still wrong way.
Smart mechanic on video, you don't need to worry.

    Enjoy what you doing 😉

  6. I started my apprenticeship at 14 1/2. My boss told me "we will teach you what you need to know here, but our main aim is to teach you how to learn for yourself" at 58 I enjoy jobs I have never seen before and especially "unfixable" jobs. Refrigeration mechanic/fitter/electrician/diesel fitter/steam engine driver/mechanical engineer.
