I Bought A Cheap Honda Civic – All The Car You Ever Need

Automobiles

Apparently Its Rust Free… Maybe I misheard and they said it’s Rustee!
On paper its sounds great… 59,000 miles, 2 Owners and great condition. I figured this 2002 EP2 Honda Civic was worth a look.

  1. I had one of the first civic's to come into the country a white 1973 m reg model it had a 995cc engine i later traded it in for a 1975 5 door model with a 1500cc engine both of them were great reliable cars wish i still had them.😒

  2. I’ve had three Hondas. Magnificent cars. But why the Hell won’t they rustproof them properly. I won’t buy another because they rot, and rot, and rot, and rot. And it would be so very easy for them just to rust protect their cars properly.

  3. A great car had one for five years then took all the plastic under trays off to sort out the fuel line everything was rusted the engine was amazing

Picked up a nice Skoda Octavia 2012 1300 a great car no plastic trim 35 quid tax a year

  4. Im looking for a replacement for my beloved 2015 Yeti Excellence automatic which was tboned & written off, budget Β£12k-Β£16k, any suggestions? Ive looked on your site but cant see anything obviously relevant

  5. I have something you will hate: a 11 year old citroen c4 Diesel. It's only done 65,000 but it's started to cost money (shocks, brakes, timing belt replaced). I do prefer a high driving position and need space for gardening stuff and big dogs. What should I be looking out for as a replacement (not a van and probably petrol as I don't do that many miles any more). Suggestions?
Maybe you could do a feature.

  6. Β£2500 for a 24 year old car Jeez Louise thats expensive mate , I got for example a MK6 Fiesta in near perfect condition from 2007 for Β£500 with only 80k on the clock and only a tiny amount of rust on a sill , so far 2 years on and its still working well at over 100k miles , If it was not an automatic then it would only be work like a grand at best so i guess it being Auto transmission is really rare , Anyway i noticed that the cars from the early to mid 00s are still working well , the old Fiesta i have has electric windows/mirrors , AC and heated front windscreen that all still work and a CD player too , very good for a car from near 20 years back

  7. I had one of these , same vintage. Bought it in 2018 for Β£700 with 78k on the clock. Did the timing belt, water pump, brake discs and MOT straight off, Β£500. New Michelins all round a while later, think that Β£300 ISH and a back box at Β£70. Did nearly 90k more from then until 2024 when it developed an intermittent starter fault that my garage weren't able to locate and so called auto electricians just weren't interested in so it had to go as it was costing me lost days at work.
It was also written off in an accident two years earlier but I bought it back, put a new wing and headlight on it and put it back on the road.
I've now got a series 8 civic 2.2 diesel, my 3rd civic with a series 6 earlier. I'm just waiting to see what changes there might be on the road tax. All my Civics came from south of the border which is why none of mine had rust problems and the car featured here is on a Cardiff registration. It was a bit pricey in my opinion.I almost went down the road of buying another series 7 but I really needed a diesel this time.

    Great channel!

  8. I'm a Toyota guy. But my brother had one of these. He caned it, but after a proper service after a few years without she sang! It was bulletproof! What a car!

  9. I drive a 2010 Vauxhall Astra with 10300 miles on the clock. It has a 1.6 petrol ecoboost engine and has never let me down. I changed the timing belt at 100,000 miles and service it annually.

I have no intention of changing my car, I love it. It’s reliable and cheap to run. What more could you want?

  10. very good cars but one thing annoys me about them, the dead zone on the steering. It takes a bit of effort to overcome the initial resistance when turning the steering wheel, as if the power steering motor is lazy to start working. It can be a chore on motorways as it actually make the steering feel heavier than a car with manual steering.
